Champs Libres - La Clarine
Opening a shop selling farm produce and presence at local markets
The objective of the not-for-profit association is to integrate disabled adults into the local social environment by way of a farm activity. It has on its farm, a day centre where it trains disabled persons and offers them the possibility of a future job in this sector. Thanks to the Proximus Foundation, the association can now integrate the farm and its disabled persons by setting up the sale of farm produce 1) a "farmers shop" open to the public at large and 2) a regular presence at local markets in order to enhance the association's integration goals.
Les Amis des Perce-neige/ Les Coteaux Mosans
Adaptation of bathrooms for multi-disabled adults
This not-for-profit association runs a 30 place residential centre for multi-disabled adults. The service provided includes complete, appropriate nursing care, in a structure which is intended to provide stability for the residents, with at the same time less "institutionalised" areas (spare time activities, individual bedrooms, etc.). The project funded by the Proximus Foundation concerns the purchase of specialised bathroom equipment: variable-height bath, stretcher-shower, shower-WC seat. This equipment makes life easier for both the personnel and the residents and means that more baths can be given to residents.
Fondation Arnaud Fraiteur
Creation of an outdoor stimulation and relaxation space for multi-disabled children
This foundation welcomes 16 children as full-time residents and 27 on a day care basis. All the children suffer from polio and the foundation's aim is to satisfy the basic needs of these polio sufferers, who have very little autonomy. The centre would like to carry out more work on its garden, to make it accessible to children in wheelchairs (the majority of the residents). The play structure existed already and thanks to the foundation's support, the centre is now adding a circuit for wheelchairs which would lead to a small house capable of accommodating 2 to 3 children in wheelchairs. This will give the children the opportunity to practise their mobility skills.
