Who can submit a project?
Non-profit associations and non-governmental organisations may submit a project in favour of children or youngsters who are disadvantaged by a disability or marginalisation. Proximus employees may also work in partnership with an eligible organisation in order to submit a project.
Are you a non-profit association or an NGO?
Can any organisation submit a project?
There are over 100,000 non-profit associations in Belgium, known as Asbl or Vzw, dealing with an enormous number of issues. There are also several thousand international associations and foundations. Clearly, most do not have missions that meet the objectives of the Proximus Foundation. That is why the Foundation has developed a set of eligibility criteria that organisations wishing to work with the Foundation must meet.
Only organisations meeting all of the following criteria was eligible for support from the Proximus Foundation in 2009:
- The organisation should have a registered office in Belgium and carry out field activities in the country.
- The organisation can't be connected, either directly or indirectly, to a political party.
- The project(s) submitted by the organisation should aim to help children or youngsters disadvantaged by poverty, social exclusion or a handicap.
Furthermore, the projects submitted should have concrete, measurable objectives, and their implementation must start in 2010.
The projects put forward by the Proximus employees
The projects submitted by employees, in partnership with eligible organisations, will be treated in exactly the same way as any other project.
However, if a project submitted by an employee wins, there is a bonus for the non-profit organisation - and for the employee, too. The winning project will receive the financial contribution, as explained elsewhere. But it will also benefit from the voluntary work of the employee or team that sponsored the project. The Proximus Company will grant the sponsoring employees 13 to 16 paid days off to work on the winning projects. These days will be additional to the employees' normal holiday entitlement.
