The Proximus Foundation was set up in 2002 to offer support to people who live on the margins of Belgian society due to their handicap, social situation or young age. This year, the Proximus Foundation, in cooperation with the King Baudouin Foundation (KBF), has decided to aim its call for projects at the organisations that offer support to children and young people (age 0 to 18) who are in need of aid. The KBF will help the Proximus Foundation to select and monitor the projects.

Third round of selections before announcing the results

The independent Proximus Foundation jury, chaired by Baudouin Michiels, Chairman of the Prince Albert Fund, and composed of well-known Belgians including Ingrid Berghmans, the former judo world champion, Dominique Monami, former Belgian women’s tennis champion, Marlène de Wouters, famous Flemish television presenter, Claude Delacroix, former director of RTBF-Radio, Benoît De Decker, manager of Solidarcité and Chris Degheldere, coordinator of the Federatie Pleegzorg, have already selected the winners of the Jury’s Prize.

Following this Proximus employees could use their vote on the Proximus intranet to select the Proximus Employees’ Prize.

Proximus is now inviting its customers to vote for the final four projects which will receive financial support from the Proximus Foundation in 2007. The Proximus Foundation have preselected 10 projects from which the Proximus-customers can choose their favourite project.

How to vote? Proximus customers can send a free sms to the number 2728. There are two ways for customers to get information about the projects: a document describing the ten projects that are up for contention for the prize will be sent to customers with their bill for March, or it can be read online at www.proximusfoundation.be. The four projects with the most public votes will be awarded the Customers’ Prize and a share of the €100.000 prize money. Each customer can only vote once. To cast a valid vote, the sms should be sent to 2728 and may only contain a number from one to ten, which corresponds to the project that the customer would like to select. After the vote has been registered, the customer will receive a free text message to confirm the selection.

The result of the employees’, jury’s and customers’ votes will be announced on 9 May.
